Exterior Detailing & Reconditioning
In today's environment, pollution, corrosion, and the sun's UV rays continuously attack your car's finish, breaking down the surface. Tiny rust and metallic particles penetrate your car's surface, leaving the finish rough and gtritty. Corrosion is morre visible on light colored cars. Swirls and Spiderwebbing are more visible on darker cars, is the result of improper washing. The sun will also cause the paint to oxidize without a long lasting protective coating. Our proven techniques will restore the new car look without the use of any aggresive compounds and/or cleaners.
We always use a two-bucket method when washing your vehicle, we believe this is the only method that can truly be safe for your cars finish. Both buckets have grit guards so you can be sure that no debris is scratching or marring your paint.
Buffing and Polishing are an art form when the proper methods are taken, but sub-standard techniques can lead to swirl marks and we believe you deserve a better finish for your money! Our products will produce the highest gloss and longest lasting protection availalable.
Our System
- We first foam the vehicle with a foam cannon to lift away any built up grime, dirt, bugs and tar. Depending on severetiy of the vehicle we either use a citrus degreaser or a concentrated shampoo. Foaming a heavily soiled vehicle is a vital part of not inducing swirls in your cars paint.
- Very Thorough prep and washing via 2 bucket method with pH neutral shampoo to reduce any chance of marring paint and trim.
- Paintwork is cleansed using a thick foam via foam gun to remove loose contaminants before washing, this helps by not inducing more scratches to the exterior.
- The paintwork, wheels, mirrors, and windows are all clay barred to remove embedded contaminants such as raildust, brake dust, tar, bug splatter, fallout, etc.
- Restore the surface's texture by safely removing all gritty paste and metallic particles.
- Remaining wax and any contaminants are stripped off the vehicle with Prep-Sol (This is an essential step in restoring paint to original condition. This step is overlooked by most detailers and can lead to the polish not being able to do it's job. We use some non-diminishing abrasives, and having clean and contaminate free paintwork gives the abrasives a chance to do their job).
- The car is then rewashed to prepare for polishing stages.
- Prep the paint for polish, by opening all doors and removing all road debris with solvents
- We thoroughly clean all Door Jambs, Trunk Jambs, and Motor Jamb.
- The wheels are cleaned, polished, and sealed(We don't forget the inner wheel or the brake shoes) Many of the vehicles brake shoes are one of the main aesthetic properties. Also, depending on the amount of work you want done, I can recondition the suspension components(i.e. Springs, Wishbone Suspension, Shocks, Sway Bars, etc) to Showroom condition. The undercarriage can also be cleaned to sheer perfection.
- Chrome and metal trim are polished and sealed from the harsh elements.
- Exhaust tips and many mufflers are polished to restore them and sealed.
- Headlights, tail-lights, and sidemarkers are polished to restore clarity and an even light distribution.
- Engine is degreased and appropriate dressings are applied, paintwork is polished and sealed. A variety of brushes and swabs are used to detail the engine to show car condition.
- Wheel wells are cleaned and dressed(Just as in the brake shoes, the shocks are no less important on many vehicles).
- Paint is then de-oxidized and leveled with a compound, followed by 1-5 or more polishing steps. (Car may be washed 4 or more times during this process to prevent cross contamination to the paint and remove all polishing dust.
- All trim is protected with a dressing and UV protectant.
- Rag tops are cleaned and treated, weatherproofed for maximum protection from the elements.
- To Finish, a high grade sealant is appied by machine or hand for long lasting protection. After the Sealant has bonded, a high grade Carnauba is applied up to 5 times, sometimes over the course of a week or more. I have a large selection of Waxes and Sealants to choose from, whether you like an old favorite Meguiar's #16 Paste or a newer technology like Wolfgang Fuzion, the choices are unlimited. I also carry many waxes that specifically look good on certain paint colors. Many car enthusiast and collection owners still love the warm, wet look of a Carnauba Wax.
Interior Cleaning and Conditioning
Dust, dirt, exhaust and odors are absorbed daily into your car's interior surfaces. Eventually that new car look and smell are gone. Visible soiling and discoloration accumulates on fabric, vinyl, and leather surfaces. To preserve and protect your car's interior form premature wear and tear, treatments are recommended on an regular basis.
We combine and implement several techniques and have allergy free cleaning solutions, and also a vapor steam system for those hard to get stains. Steaming also kills odor and allergy causing mold and bacteria.
Our Leather and Vinyl cleaning and conditioning process maintains the natural factory finish. We only use water based products in our interiors, never oily products that are used for a cover up. We meticulously clear every square inch of your interior. The 2-Step leather treatment is like food for your leather, making it supple and bringing it back to life. With non-coated and most Italian leather my method of using a heat gun to deep feed the leather has become a client favorite. We also use products on your vinyl, rubber, and plastic that are known as the leaders in the Detailing Industry such as 303 Aerospace cleaners and protectants that repel dust, dirt and human oils from collecting. Many of the dressings used by the corner car washes are oily and greasy which can attract dust and dry out the surface. These will never be put on your automobile, we want it to look like it did the day it rolled off the assembly line, or the day you were lucky enough to watch it roll off the assembly line.
